Basalt Massage Stones Shaped by Peruvian Rivers
Handpicked from rivers in Peru, these premium basalt stones are naturally molded and shaped by the gentle flow of water. Enlivened with natural energy, they are specifically chosen for their thickness and heat retention. Basalt is volcanic in nature, so its mineral composition, mainly silica and traces of iron, helps the stones retain heat very well.
Unlike mass produced alternatives, all TheraTools hot stones are unique and ergonomically shaped for the palm.
Designed to give you the effective working tools for many types of massage techniques, this 61-piece massage stone set has a generous amount of large, medium, and small working stones to allow you to consistently rotate stones in and out of your heater to maintain the perfect temperature for your client. It features additional working stones along with the Sacral Belly Stone and other specialty placement stones to create the perfect balance during a stone massage. The stone sizes listed are approximate, and colors may vary.
About the Stones Included This Set
8 Small Stones, 2"-2.5"
These small stones fit perfectly into a therapist's hands and can be used when performing any number of massage strokes, including effleurage and petrissage. They can also be used to treat the smaller, tighter areas of the body such as the neck.
12 Medium Stones, 2.5"-3"
These stones are best used on medium size muscles, such as the calf and upper arm/body muscles. They provide a little more mass than the small working stones, but they’re still easy to manipulate and use.
12 Large Stones, 3"-3.5"
Large stones are for direct use on the client on areas where there is a lot of dense muscle, such as the pectorals or the thighs. They can also be used as a second set of gluteal or palm stones when needed.
8 Facial Stones, 1.5"-2"
Facial stones are great for massaging the face, ears, and neck. They can also be chilled and used to place over the eyes to bring down any swelling, as well as toning the muscles of the face. They can also be used around the eyes and lips using gentle effleurage strokes.
8 Toe Stones, 1"-1.5"
When placed between the toes or the fingers, hot stones help relax the muscles that take the most abuse when walking, wearing tight shoes, holding a pen, or typing on the computer.
8 Spinal Layout Stones, 2"-2.5"
These work perfectly as placement stones along the erector spinae to help loosen the client’s tight back muscles.
2 Palm/Gluteal Stones, 3.25"-3.75"
These stones fit comfortably in the client’s hands to provide warmth and comfort as a placement stone, or they can be used as effleurage stones.
1 Sacral/Belly Stone, 4.5” to 5”
This large heavy stone helps relieve cramping and adds a sense of being grounded when used in the lower belly area. It also delivers deep, penetrating warmth to the musculature of the lower back and upper sacral region.
2 Trigger Point Stones, 3" to 4"
These thin stones have a rounded end and are used to release trigger points or performing deep tissue work on muscles that are in spasm. The heat that emanates from the stones will help make the therapist’s job easier, as it relaxes the problematic muscles. This is a good substitute for using the thumbs and will help save therapists from wear and tear on their hands.
