Directions
1. Gross soiling, if any, must be removed using Ready To Use Thymo-Cide before final application of the disinfectant.
2. Apply the germicidal solution to a sponge or cloth to the point of saturation.
3. Wipe the surfaces to be cleaned/disinfected with the saturated sponge or cloth, keeping in mind the appropriate contact time (10 minutes).
4. Applying the disinfectant directly onto surfaces or immersion of items may be done only when the solution is intended to contact all surfaces.
5. Do not pour the disinfectant onto or immerse items or equipment not intended to be saturated. Be careful not to pour the liquid on our near components that are not intended to be saturated (i.e., switches, power cord or the unit’s power cord contacts, circuit breaker terminals, electronics or labels, etc.). Doing so could result in equipment damage.
6. If the surface is still wet after 10 minutes, it may be wiped dry using either disposable or re-usable towels. (Most likely, it will be air-dried.)
7. Do not wipe the surface dry prior to the required 10-minute contact time. Wexford disinfectants contain humectants which are substances that promote the retention of water. These ingredients evaporate slowly to prolong drying time, thus maintaining the action of the active ingredients. Although the surfaces may appear dry, there is still dampness or moisture present.
8. When using disposable towels or re-usable (launderable) towels take care when wiping around switches, power cord or the unit’s power cord contacts, circuit breaker terminals, electronics, or labels. Failure to do so could result in equipment damage.
9. After using Wexford’s Ready To Use Thymo-Cide to clean, wash hands per Infection Control Procedures.
